Space Opera is an innovative and radical combination of tabletop roleplaying games, democratic organizing practice, and theatrical spectacle, testing your very ability to work together in order to thwart existential consequences. Planets revolt, wonders appear, governments crumble, and you roll the dice. The fate of the universe hangs in the balance! 

Space Opera is for newcomers and old friends alike. All parts of the rules will be explained and it's deeply important to us to welcome players who aren't coming from a gaming background. This is for you if you're a gamer, but also if you enjoy experimental and interactive theatrical experiences, care about democratic practice and cooperation, love sci-fi, care about working together towards a better world, etc. etc. You are welcome at our table

The Space Opera premiere will take place over three Saturdays in June, the 14th, the 21st, & the 28th from 12-7 PM. Each day consists of a full gameplay session (approx 6 hours) with a meal provided. While an overarching story is evolving between the three episodes, each single session exists as a complete story. Come to all three or just one! Curious but not ready to dive in? Become a Galactic Witness and observe a session of gameplay for an hour or two. The choice is yours.

How much should I pay for my ticket?

The One Episode Experience: 

Hey traveler! Looking for a taste of adventure? This ticket gets you one full session of gameplay, accessing a fully contained episode of the story. Your choices, actions, and collective movements will affect future gameplay! Your story will be shaped by the choices of the players who came before! Jump in!

• 1 full day session of Space Opera gameplay on June 14th, 21st, or 28th

• 1 catered meal

• COVID Rapid Test

The Galactic Witness: 

Curious, tight on time, or an avid fan of lurking in the shadows? This is the right place for you. This ticket grants you the ability to drop into a session of Space Opera gameplay as an observer. Time slots are either 1.5 or 2 hours, dispersed throughout the 3 days of play. 

• Entrance to Space Opera as an observer for a 1.5 or 2 hour slot of the experience on either June 14th, 21st, or 28th

ACCESS INFO

• Participants will be required to take a COVID rapid test and mask while indoors at this event. Tests and masks provided by Obvious Agency.

• Arch Street Meeting House is fully ADA accessible.

• The venue has 2 single-occupancy gender-neutral restrooms on the same floor as the event space.

• Weather allowing, the catered meal will take place outside.

• Arch Street Meeting House is at the corner of Arch Street and 4th Street. The Meeting House entrance door is at the center of the north side of the building (facing Arch Street).

• Paid street parking and multiple paid parking lots are available in the area. On Sundays some street parking is free but be sure to check signage.

• The building is a short walk from the 2nd and Market stop on the L subway line, and falls directly on the 48 bus route.
